How wework.
This is what a project with me looks like, from the first message to the system running. Each stage says what is on you and what is on me.
The conversation
30 minutes, free
- You
- You tell me what the business does and where the work gets stuck, by email, WhatsApp or video call.
- Me
- I show you the demo closest to your trade, running, and ask how you handle it today.
- You get
- The link to that demo, so your team can click through it.
The diagnosis
A few days
- You
- You answer a questionnaire about how the business works and, if you can, send me videos of the counter or the warehouse.
- Me
- I go through all of it and write down what the system has to solve first and what can wait.
- You get
- A written quote, within 24 hours of having what I need.
The proposal
When you sign it
- You
- You read it, ask whatever you need and sign it. Half is paid on signing.
- Me
- I write the scope in an annex: what is in, what is out, and the dates for the demo, the adjustments and the handover.
- You get
- The contract, with a fixed price.

The mockup
1 to 2 weeks
- You
- You open it on a computer or a phone, click through it and tell me what you would change.
- Me
- I build every screen so you can use it as if it were the system.
- You get
- Approved screens, before I write a line of code.
The build
2 to 6 weeks
- You
- You try each step and tell me what does not fit, while it is still easy to change.
- Me
- I build it in parts and every week I show you what already works.
- You get
- The first part running before the whole thing is done.
Going live
When you approve it
- You
- You pay the other half. If you like, you keep the spreadsheet next to it for a few days, until you trust the numbers.
- Me
- I move the data from your spreadsheets into the system and walk you through every screen.
- You get
- The system running, and the code, which is yours from the final payment.
Adjustments
30 to 90 days, depending on the tier
- You
- You tell me what does not work, or what you want different now that you use it.
- Me
- I fix it at no charge: bugs and small changes to screens that already exist.
- You get
- A system that fits how you actually work, at no extra cost.
Maintenance
1 to 3 months included, then month to month
- You
- You use it. If you want a change, you write to me.
- Me
- A monitor opens your system several times a day and, if you write to me, I answer the same day.
- You get
- Someone who finds out before you do if something goes down.

What comes up along the way
Once people use it, they almost always want something more.
A button, a field or a report on a screen that already exists is a small improvement.
During the adjustment days it is free, and the On-call + Improvements plan includes up to two a month.
A whole new section, like a warehouse or manufacturing, is a separate job: it gets its own scope, price and date in writing before I start, like the first one.
How the MATIAL system grew
- Javier signs the first contract: quotes, delivery notes and the vans by stage. Before writing a line of code I sent him a questionnaire of fifty-odd questions about how the workshop runs.
- Fifteen days laterThe workshop is already working with the first part. From then on I add one section a week while the workshop keeps working.
- A Monday. A van comes in configured like another one and Javier asks whether he can copy it. The “Copy van” button is live that same day.
- He signs the second contract, 72 days after the first: the stockroom, production and costing.
- He signs the third: users for the workshop, each with their own level, and the bot he had mentioned on the first day.
